How Can I Help?

HOW CAN I HELP?

We have been overwhelmed with the support we have already received from the community. We’ve had numerous offers of physical machines, services and even cold, hard cash. We’ve had the AI, videography, and hype-machine skills of the Ball Goblins. We’ve had the support of Joe, Robbie and the rest of the crew at the Glenside Machine Shop who have been generous enough to let us use their space to host events. Max Power was kind enough to loan us one of his one-of-a-kind masterpiece machines for a fundraiser party. We’ve had email shout-outs by the Philly Pinball Club and plenty of word-of-mouth support from the community as a whole.

To say all this support has “warmed the cockles of our hearts” would be an understatement. At the risk of getting real mushy, we love all you folks, and we’re appreciative of all the support.

As plans for the arcade move along, we’ll send out notifications to folks who are interested in helping. You can sign up to our mailing list or contact us directly via the contact page.

It’s important that everyone knows our dedication to community building isn’t just lip-service. We want to create a place that pays people back not just in fun, but where we can, also in dollars. See below for more details.

Please note, the content of this page will change as we make progress toward our goals, so please check back from time to time!

1: Investment

This is pretty straightforward. Frank’s will be accepting funding in the form of investments. Frank’s intent is to utilize Debt Financed Investments, not Equity based. In short, you will invest some money, and over time, you will get that money back plus interest. We will provide more details for investors soon. If you have any specific questions, please contact us via the contact page.

Investing in Frank’s will be for larger sums of capital. If you are looking to support Frank’s financially at a smaller dollar value, see our Crowd–Funding section farther down the page.

2: Game Loan Program

We’ve received a boatload of calls from folks offering to loan us machines to get started. These offers got the gears in our heads moving. It’s no secret that we’re big on community around here, so we’ve devised a plan to accept loans of equipment while offering a financial return.

We are in the process of creating a points-based rating system for equipment. Machines will be rated on a scale of 1 to 5. The point value of a machine will be based on it’s monetary value.

Every month, a portion of the profits will be distributed among those who have loaned us games. The financial distribution will be based on total points.

Example: Tom has loaned us three games, each worth 1 point. Dick has loaned us one 3-point game. Harriet has loaned us a 3-point game and a 2 point game. Tom and Dick would both receive the same payout as they both have a total of 3 points worth of machines. Harriet would receive more because she has 5 points worth of machines.

Frank’s will maintain and service your machines while they are in our possession. Games must be in 100% working condition at time of drop-off. We strongly encourage the use of playfield protectors.

We want to be very clear that the game loan program is not going to be a cash-cow for anyone involved. We want to set expectations as clear as we can. We want people to look at this as a way to bring more games to the public, maybe as a place to keep a machine if you are out of room but don’t want to sell it, and make a little bit of money as well.

We will add more details here as we flesh out the program in full.

3: Crowd-Funding

As we get closer to opening, Frank’s will start an online crowd-funding campaign through one of the major crowd-funding sites. We intend to offer a variety of funding levels that provide a wide variety of rewards. We’ll have everything from stickers and t-shirts all the way up to a discount on a yearly membership and even a Lifetime Membership option.

Sign up on our mailing list via the contact page to get up to date info on when it goes live!

4: Professional Experience

We aren’t strangers to small business operations (we own Rage Tilt Pinball and have plenty of experience working in arcades), but we’ve never owned our own brick-and-mortar location before. We will, of course, hire professionals in various fields when we need to, but if you are a professional and would be willing to help at a discounted rate or pro-bono, we are all ears!

As some movie lady once said, “I’ve always depended on the kindness of strangers.”

And as Frank always says, “The stranger, the better!”
